McAfee Antivirus Software

NIU provides McAfee Antivirus Software for free to students, faculty and staff

• Students - www.students.niu.edu/provisioning
• Faculty and staff - www.staff.niu.edu/provisioning
• There are also limited licenses for off-campus use by NIU faculty, students, and staff.

Updating your virus definition files

VirusScan Enterprise is configured to periodically look for new virus definition files. If you don't want to wait for the next scheduled search:

1. Enter the VirusScan Console
2. Highlight the option for "AutoUpdate"
3. Click on the "Start" icon (the button with a green triangle pointing right)
4. When the update is completed, click "Close"
