McAfee Virex

ITS provides this software free of charge for installation on NIU-tagged Computers. Contact the ITS Helpdesk for information regarding NIU employee home-use and installation on non-NIU computers.

Product Overview:

Virus detection and removal software for Macintosh computers. McAfee® Virex shields users from all downloaded viruses with its Universal Scan-At-Download feature. Virex scans Zip archives, files compressed by StuffIt Deluxe and Compact Pro, email attachments, and more. PC users should obtain McAfee VirusScan.
