VoIP Troubleshooting Guide
Problem: No sound/volume/dial-tone from the handset
Solution: Verify sound is directed to proper audio device
- Right-click the m6350 icon
on the system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen and choose properties.
- View m6350 Configuration Wizard
- Choose Next > on the main screen
- Choose Next > on the Server Settings screen
- At the Wave Audio Device Selection window, in the field, ‘Select headset devices for making calls’
a. At the Playback drop down menu select USB Audio Device 1.1
b. At the Recording drop down menu select USB Audio Device 1.1
c. You must check USB Headset Smart Button Action in order for your external phone buttons to work

- In the field, ‘Select a speaker device for ringing and paging tones'
a. Using the drop down menu select your internal computer sound device. If you do not have one use the USB Audio Device 1.1
(Note: Find my internal computer sound device)
- Choose Next >
- The Set Playback Volume window,
a. Initial recommendations: Speaker Boost = 1x and the slider set to 20%. (Click test to verify this is coming from your phone)
- Choose Next >
- The Ring/Alert Playback Volume window,
a. Initial recommendations: Speaker Boost = 1x and the slider set to 50%. (Click test to verify this is coming from your computer/headphones/speaker/etc..)
- Choose Next >
- The Record Volume Control window,
a. Initial recommendations: Microphone Boost = 1x and the slider set to 0%
- Then click Next, Next, Finish
Now open your Nortel Phone Dialer by using either the Blue button on your external controls, or double-clicking the m6350 icon on your taskbar. Then choose Actions – Logout and Exit to save your configuration.

Log back into your client to finish set-up by double-clicking the 'M6350 Client' icon on your desktop.
(Note: The three Audio Settings above can set can be adjusted later by going to Options – Audio Controls in your Nortel Phone Dialer)

Tip
: If you are getting Windows audio through your phone, go to Start – Settings – Control Panel – Sound and Audio Devices. On the Audio tab, make sure the playback devices are using your internal computer’s sound device and NOT “USB Audio Device.”
