5.03 SCHEDULE OF AVAILABILITY - ADABAS

Northern Illinois University currently maintains an Administrative Database (ADABAS) and a Data Communications Monitor System (CICS) in production, development and test modes of operation.
The schedule of availability for CICS is listed in 5.02 and for ADABAS in 5.03. Alterations to these scheduled hours including requests to start/stop, close and disable files must be coordinated with the Production Scheduler or a designated backup as described in section 5.04.
It should be noted that all startup/restart/recovery routines are controlled by Jobtrac and OPS/MVS dependent upon scheduled or manual request to do so. Details are listed in each job's documentation in JOBTRAC. Issue JOBTRAC CMD: ? CICSPRD0 to review CICSPRD0 or replace jobname CICSPRD0 for other required reviews.

5.02 SCHEDULE OF AVAILABILITY - CICS
*CICSPRD0 Monday-Sunday (24 hours)
Files Opened/Enabled Monday-Friday 0700-1815 and Saturday 0700-1600 Except TRACS, CLM and SIS.
TRACS Opened/Enabled daily 0700-2215.
CLM Opened/Enabled Monday-Friday 0700-2200 and Saturday 0700-1600.
SIS Opened/Enabled Daily 0700-2215.
CICS VSAM files Opened/Enabled Monday-Friday 0700-1815 and Saturday 0700-1600 except Health Services and UBS. Health Services opened/enabled Monday-Friday 0700-1800 and Saturday 0700-1400. UBS Opened/Enabled Monday-Friday 0700-1800.
CICSQAD0 Monday-Saturday (10 hours) - Files Opened/Enabled Monday - Saturday 0700-1700.
*CICSTST0 Monday-Sunday (24 hours) - Files Opened/Enabled Monday - Friday 0700-2350.

CICSXPR0 Request only
*All CICS's may be interrupted for short periods of time during scheduled System Improvement Time (SIT). A telephone message (753-0148) will be set on these occasions.

5.03 SCHEDULE OF AVAILABILITY - ADABAS

2. *ADATEST Monday - Sunday (24 hours)
3. *ADAQAD Monday - Sunday (24 hours)
4. *ADAXPR Request only
*ADAPROD, ADATEST, ADAXPR and ADAQAD may be interrupted for short periods of time during scheduled System Improvement Time (S.I.T). A telephone message (753-0148) will be set on these occasions.

1. CICSPRD0 may be started or stopped and CICS files opened/enabled or closed/disabled by approval of the Production Scheduler or a designated backup. CICSPRD0 files are opened/enabled on a daily basis by individual production system dependent on scheduled batch jobs completion. CICSPRD0 files are closed/disabled by individual production system before the start of that nights' scheduled production. Both the open and close functions are performed by execution of batch jobs through Jobtrac's control.
2. CICSTST0 may be stopped and started or CICS files opened/enabled or closed/disabled upon request by authorized personnel. In addition, selected areas have been authorized to open/enable or close/disable specific CICSTEST files through submission of batch jobs to JOBTRAC. A list of authorized personnel may be found in the Computer Operations Procedure Manual. This request must be coordinated by the Production Scheduler or a backup during normal office hours (Monday - Friday 0800-1630) or to Production Control at all other times. Computer Operations may be contacted when Production Control staff are not on duty. The requestor is responsible for proper notification when he/she has finished with CICSTEST on these occasions.
3. CICSQAD0 is scheduled active from 0700-1700 Monday-Saturday during defined testing periods and daily on special request. The availability is coordinated through Production Scheduling (Monday - Friday 0800-1630) and originated by Central Services. At other times authorized personnel defined in the Computer Operations Procedure Manual may request this through Production Control if personnel are on duty or Computer Operations at other times. On these occasions the requestor must establish the shutdown time.
4. CICSCSCI may be started and stopped upon request by authorized personnel. A list of authorized personnel may be found in the Computer Operations Procedure Manual. This request will be coordinated by Production Control. Computer Operations may be contacted when Production Control staff are not on duty.
5. CICSXPR0 startup and shutdown functions are controlled and issued by Systems Programming as required to perform their testing functions.
6. ADAPROD may be stopped and started without the Production Scheduler or a backup approval only for System Improvement Time and as required during weekend production processing to restart/recover a production file upon request by the Central Services on-call person. This list provided by Central Services, is posted in the machine room.
7. ADAQAD may be stopped and started upon request by authorized personnel. A list of authorized personnel may be found in the Computer Operations Procedure Manual. This request must be coordinated by the Production Scheduler or his backup during his working hours (Monday - Friday 0800-1630) or to Production Control at all other times. It should be noted that Computer Operations may be contacted when Production Control staff are not on duty.
